A Letter from the Cooperative Director:

The Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative continues to be progressive in preparing teachers and administrators for the challenges of Common Core State Standards. Our programs and services are evolving to meet the ever changing needs of the 16 school districts we serve. As part of this evolution, we have begun the daunting task of delivering support for the implementation of the Common Core State Standards, Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers and the newly required Teacher Evaluation System.

Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative has 47 employees total, 9 of these employees are housed in schools or preschools, and we run 4 state programs. The Arkansas Department of Education Base Funding for our cooperative is $408,618 and the total budget is approximately $5.3 million.

One of the main purposes of NWAESC is to be effective and efficient in the administration of programs for the schools. As a result, our 16 school districts or a portion of these school districts, often share joint programs. Those programs are:

APSCN Field SupportMedicaid billing services

NWAESC serves as a support agent for new state initiatives by providing extensive professional development and capacity building necessary to implement the undertaking of our state to improve student achievement. The mission of Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative is to support and serve our school districts as they strive to provide a high quality education. With the support of our cooperative board, we are actively involved in providing a sound shared vision to move our students forward in a changing landscape of public education.
